graduation

My stepson will be graduating from high school at the end of May. We'll be traveling down to Hilton Head, SC for the ceremony/party. I need a new dress.

I know two things for sure about this trip -- it will be hot; and I want to be comfortable! Thoughts on these dresses? Any dress recommendations?

And I keep stalking these cute Indigo by Clarks sandals. Cute and probably very comfy!

that'll be all.

These are the BEST frickin' cupcakes in the world. Truly. They are AMAZING. As pretty as they look, they taste even better.

I haven't eaten sugar since February 11 - which was my birthday. To celebrate, I accepted the generous invitation to "make-your-own-sundae-with-brownies-and-hot fudge night" at my good friend's house. With robust determination, I managed to overdose on the ice cream, brownies, and various toppings one puts on a "make-your-own-sundae."

I jumped on the sugar wagon the very next day and haven't had nary a nibble since.

Well, it's the end of fucking April and I want to jump off that wagon and dive into one of these cupcakes. It's time. for. some. sweets.

lucky!

When we moved into our house 6 years ago, it was July. The dogwood tree in the front yard was well past it's bloom time, of course, and new blossoms wouldn't be out for another 9 months. Oh how I love a surprise -- would it don white or pink blooms? I found out the following April that this tree was of the pink variety. However, I was a bit dismayed by the fact there were only *4* flowers on the whole tree! Count 'em -- 4!

I am ever so happy to report that since the first blooming, I can no longer count the flowers, as I get lost in a sea of pink.

My dogwood is gorgeous! Springtime in Virginia is fabulous. I am so lucky.

Better Homes and Gardens has a real estate website. You can find out what your house is worth, or find listings (complete with a Visual Earth map) for many cities and towns in the country. Granted, the selection of listings is quite limited, but it's a good place to start.

necessary evil

So, if I could look as gorgeous without make-up as Penelope Cruz, it would be a glorious day! However, I have come to the realization that make-up is no longer optional for me. It is a necessity. Sad, but true. From my under eye dark circles, to my fading lip color (why the hell does this happen?!) to my blotchy skin, I won't leave the house without it. Gone are the days of a quick application of mascara and being on my merry way. Perhaps this shift in mind set is rationalization for the shit-ton of money I spent yesterday on various creams, shadows, gloss, etc., but let's be real - Penelope Cruz I am not.
