After saving some of the money from the sale of my husband's rental property, we were able to take a summer holiday to Switzerland last year. *This* year, however, things will be different. Since I need to be working at the shop six days a week, there are no trips planned for this summer (aside from going down to Hilton Head for my step-son's graduation).
So, what I'd like to do, is book a relatively close bed & breakfast for a Saturday night, spend the day on Sunday and come home. Hardly a vacation, but one night away is sometimes all ya need!
The problem is, through endless searching online, the rooms of bed & breakfasts in Virginia look something like this:

or this:

And these places aren't cheap either. The settings for the most part are lovely; why is this decor so prevalent? Maybe I'll just spend the money on a new rug for my living room.

The rug will make you happy every time you look at it.
ReplyDeleteraina is right about the rug. but matt and i spent a night at a B&B in williamsburg 2 years ago for a friend's wedding (the cedars, it was called), and i feel happy every time i think about it....and not because of the decor? ;-)
