Just because *I* had never heard of this film, certainly doesn't negate the fact that Bigelow is the first woman to win an Oscar for "best director". Whoot-whoot!
And what an interesting tid-bit that she is James Cameron's ex-wife. Ouch.
I can't get over the fact we never had a woman director win until last night! So exciting!!!!

ReplyDeletefyi. james cameron is the one who championed his ex to get the job of directing the hurt locker. don't think she would have gotten the job if it weren't for him.
ReplyDeletei have seen the hurt locker and it was good. but it wasn't better than avatar. this was just the academy's way of stirring shit up and making the night not a total bore. it wasn't really deserved.
in my opinion of course.
I finally saw Crazy Heart yesterday. How perfect was that movie and Jeff Bridges' performance?
