Kendall Simmons is on the fast track for becoming a nationally recognized interior designer. Moving to NYC right after graduating from The University of Georgia, she was hired by a New York City firm but left after just one year because she was offered a job to work on the design team of Arthur Dunnam, design director at Jed Johnson Associates. She took the job, and has been there for the last two years.
The following pictures are from her work at JJA.
This light and airy house is in the Hamptoms:
Proving her versatility, Kendall takes on a much more traditional and formal aesthetic for clients in Chicago:
A Girl in the World is Kendall's blog. Here she chronicles her life as a 25 year old living and working in NYC. It focuses on interior design first and foremost, but food comes in a close second as a topic. Yes, a girl after my own heart!!
Oh, she's an artist too. She calls this a "sketch" of a chair. Sketch or not, I'd like to have this framed and hung on my wall! :)
First off, Kendall has such talent! Second off...I used to live in the Manhattan House! Before it went condo and all upscale, when it was still just a rental! And I. Miss. It. !! (sniff) now even more!!!
ReplyDeleteI know! (And to think she's only 25!)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you lived there, Sue! Small world. ;)
25?! Please excuse me while I go lay down on my sofa curled up in a ball and cry...
ReplyDeleteWhat do I have to do to live in the Hamptons House?
Anita, thank you so much! You are a sweetheart, and have really taken my blog under your wing.
ReplyDeleteThanks again.
Kendall is a close friend of mine, she's fabulous!!! And you're right, she's on the road to becoming a huge up-and-coming designer!
ReplyDeleteKendall is my wife and just want to say you have made her week. Thank you so much. She takes alot of pride in her work and loves what she does. For this I am happy. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, she is super talented! And she's from Georgia, go Kendall! Lovely homes, and clearly she isn't stuck at all to one style, very cool post!
ReplyDeletewell a certain someone has talent in spades! love what she has done.
ReplyDeleteand my place looks positively shabby in comparison. D'OH.
She has amazing talent + such diverse style.. just gorgeous Kendall! xoxo
ReplyDeleteKendall is my sister in law, and I'm SO proud of her! It took so much courage for her to move to NYC without knowing a soul after college, and I love seeing that she is making a name for herself. She is truly talented, and I can't wait to see what she does next!
ReplyDeleteI WANT the kitchen or any of the first 15 shots.
ReplyDeleteShe does both trad. & mod amazingly well!
BUT the kitchen would give me every excuse in the world NOT to cook, I would just stare at its clean BEAUTY and order delv. for in that bed:)
Kendall is my niece. Although she has always put her whole self in everything she does, she somehow manages to find just a little extra for her design work. She loves what she does; I think that always comes through in the end. It's very exciting for an outsider to not only recognize her talents, but to put forth the time and effort to share them. Thank you! Oh yeah, the "sketch" of the chair you were referring to...that ain't nothin'!!!
ReplyDeleteShe has an amazing color sense!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... that view from their terrace! Swoon!
