David in D.C.

I just started following a blog by a designer in Washington.
His blog bio is front and center(!) but I really like his style and his photos are top-notch.  And you have to love that his disclaimer states: "this is a non-kumbaya zone."

I think he has a great knack for mixing old and new, moderate and pricey.

What a cool rug -- he took scraps of sisal, bound them in custom grosgrain and reassembled.

Muriel Brandolini

Flipping through the latest Harper's Bazaar, I stumbled across a short article on Muriel Brandolini.  She has a new book coming out in October.  I cannot wait to see it!

The World Of Muriel Brandolini: Interiors

This designer has true style; her earthy, worldly glamour is gorgeous.

These dresses are from her website -- I believe they are made from her line of fabrics....I think they are stunning.

Have a great Wednesday!  First day of school for my guys...
Where did the summer go??

Kelly Hoppen Wants You for Her TV Show!

I saw this pop-up last night on Kelly Hoppen's website.  If my house wasn't on the market, I'd be emailing her!  Why don't you?!
(Although maybe you'd have to be in the UK?  It doesn't say....)

Sarah Lavoine

 Designer Sarah Lavoine uses neutrals.

 ...and black accents.

She's French.

And ever so pretty.

Oh, and she has some gorgeous bedding through D. PORTHAULT

I wonder if she'd say yes to a date.

Grounded Glamour

I'm loving the saturated, jewel tones designer Summer Thornton uses.
Glamorous, but grounded.

this girl is talented

Kendall Simmons is on the fast track for becoming a nationally recognized interior designer.  Moving to NYC right after graduating from The University of Georgia, she was hired by a New York City firm but left after just one year because she was offered a job to work on the design team of Arthur Dunnam, design director at Jed Johnson Associates.  She took the job, and has been there for the last two years.

The following pictures are from her work at JJA.

This light and airy house is in the Hamptoms:

Proving her versatility, Kendall takes on a much more traditional and formal aesthetic for clients in Chicago:

A Girl in the World  is Kendall's blog.  Here she chronicles her life as a 25 year old living and working in NYC.  It focuses on interior design first and foremost, but food comes in a close second as a topic.  Yes, a girl after my own heart!!
Oh, she's an artist too.  She calls this a "sketch" of a chair.  Sketch or not, I'd like to have this framed and hung on my wall!  :)

those chandeliers!

that color!

oh, yes, that tub!

the warmth!

that floor!
