Anthology

The latest issue of Anthology magazine (have you seen it?) is themed 'going global.'  The editors were right in choosing to interview Keith Johnson; a guy with his finger on the pulse of all things global.

Lucky us!  We get to see some pictures from his home in NYC.

I love this photograph of an elderly Swedish dress designer.  Who is she?

Oh, and speaking of Anthropologie, I. Want. This. Skirt.

and these shoes.

(They're lined with shearling....I wouldn't have want to wear another pair of shoes all winter.)

Dream a Little Dream....

Mmmm, hmmmm.

It's foggy today.  These sunshine-y shoes would light up my life.

Weekend at Grandma's

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be spending the weekend at the Duke's Grandmother's castle.

William and Kate are off to Balmoral Castle in Scotland to rest up from an amazing day of wedding festivities.

On another note, with all the coverage of the wedding (and the DRESS!), I haven't found one image of the SHOES SHE WORE.  Help a sister out.

Does anyone know what her shoes looked like?!

Hope you get to spend your weekend in a castle!!  xo

Oy, My Achin' Feet!

So, I need some new spring shoes. This is not just the usual "spring is here!  Time for new shoes!"  This is seriously the need for new shoes, because I have

Upsetting to the average person, devastating to a shoe freak.

I have to wear shoes that have a rocker-bottom or stiff sole, and absolutely no high heels, because my feet can't do this:

I can't do that bend that normal people can do right at the beginning of the big toe.  Well, I can do it, but it hurts like hell, and I certainly can't walk when I do it.

Sooooo, I bought these today:

The Flirt by Noat.
They are SO very comfortable.  I have not gotten to the point where all style will be sacrificed, so while these sandals aren't the most attractive, they are waaaayyyy better than some of the options out there for me.

I can also wear clogs and any other stiff soled shoe.  Basically if the sole doesn't bend AT ALL, I can wear the shoe.

{Can you tell these are Missoni?!}

Wish me luck out there!  Let me know if you come across some kick-ass flatforms or other such shoes.  I need all the help I can get!

Don't get me started on a rant about Black Friday

However, I think those people who line up and camp out at Best Buy for days on end are C.R.A.Z.Y.  I'm just sayin'....

So, I'm working today - and I wish I had some new clogs to wear.
My Dansko's have seen better days, and I've never met a clog I didn't like.

I'm loving these Beavers clogs.

{Let's all have a chuckle on the name of this shoe:  Hairy Khaki Green....Beavers}

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving.....and if you're one of the shoppers who left the house before sun up, I hope you get a good nap today.  You crazy-ass black friday shoppers, you.

Guess what my son wants for his 15th Birthday...

...SHOES!!
(Yes, he is his mother's son.)

Not just any pair of shoes did he request -- he wants Wallabees!

Do you have a Wallabees story to share?  Do you think they're dorky?  Or uber-cool?

Acrobats of God

I've always loved exciting footwear.  This limited edition by Nicole Brundage under her Acrobats of God label is floatin' my boat and getting me jazzed.  Her collection entitled “Wood” (the shoes have a natural, untreated wood heel) is so sexy, edgy, and  modern.
I love them!!
