stolen!

Pastoral, Henri Matisse

Paintings worth $125 million
including masterpieces by Picasso and Matisse, have been stolen during a daring night raid on Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris."  -Daily Telegraph

Ballsy move, yes?  Now what does an art thief do with the stolen paintings?  Surely he can't sell them.  Maybe he has that perfect spot in his living room for the Picasso....

  2. you know i've never really understood the stealing masterpieces thing. The only thing I can think of is that they can sell it to some rich sultan across the world who lives in a guarded kingdom and is probably "crooked" or whatever so no-one but him really sees it. I don't know. Maybe that's a little James Bond but it's the only thing that makes sense. Ticks me off though!!!!

  3. It's very "Thomas Crown Affair". Sad, but it will turn back up eventually.
