I'd Take Legal Action Too!

The Times of India reported the former Miss World is “furious with the bleaching botch-up” and is considering taking legal action against ELLE. ~Jorge Rivas

I find it appalling if indeed the folks at ELLE photoshopped Aishwayra Rai Bachchan's skin color.  What do you think?

  1. OMG! Good for her I would be furious. That is a step too far. She has such beautiful skin tone !

Then again sadly it doesn't shock me, I bet she didn't complain that they airbrushed her skinnier or removed any imperfections.

  2. Not that I think that it is an excuse by the way just saying that if celebrities except that they will be altered then the boundaries of what is acceptable are already blurred.

  3. It looks like she's just washed out from the white background and the photography lights and flash bouncing off of that. The can make one look ghostly..

  4. It has nothing to do with her ethnic background. She does not own that photograph-they do and she gave them the right to use it in their magazine as they see fit when she signed the big bucks contract. She's a big girl. She did the shoot, was criticized by fans and is now backpeddling. Saying she is going to sue is called damage control. Great publicity for her, I'll give her that. Or, Elle is now going to do another issue featuring her as is. Either way, great publicity and it's free.

  6. I would be furious as well. I really don't understand the desire to "bleach" in photos anyway. Why does anyone think it looks prettier than darker skin? Beauty comes in lots of different forms, not just one.

I'm not sure if she'll be able to win a legal battle, but I commend her for trying.

  7. P.S. I love this... has it right, the whole photo is overexposed makeing her seem fair complected, it's a photography technique, not PhotoShopped.

  8. Agreed with some others. It's an exposure thing done for effect of the whole look.

  10. i think it's more a look they were going for with the cover and less about them trying to take away her ethnicity.
even though they thoughtlessly did just that.

  11. My goodness. I certainly cannot say for sure, but I believe the entire image has been filtered with more white... her true skin color is JUST beautiful -- as she -- I think it would have been a far more striking color with her natural tones shown true :)
