March 1

It is a beautiful, sunny, warm day.  I'll walk to work today, breathe in the fresh air, and write a gratitude list in my head.  There is a lot to be grateful for, yes?

Gorgeous flowers by SAIPUA.

(Sarah was in Charlottesville last week, and even came into Roxie Daisy!!  I'm so so disappointed I wasn't there when she came in....)

Finding Inspiration

I'm looking for inspiration today; seeking out a neutral palette.  I'll be working with someone later this week who is ready for calm.  Soothing.  Tranquil.  Restful.  Her bedroom needs to be peaceful.

I also wanted to mention the benefits of walking:

You get to put path-side goodness in a pretty pitcher.  :)

Flowers Putting on a Show

The Chelsea Flower Show wrapped up this past weekend.

Here's what we missed...

"Nong Nooch Tropical Garden from Thailand brings a replica Thai temple to the Great Pavilion, covered in 100,000 flowers."

 But of course!

"Vanessa Redgrave unveils a rose named in honour of her late daughter Natasha Richardson."

See more HERE.

It's all I've got.

Have a great Thursday.

One Luxury I'd Love to Afford

Sarah Ryhanen

Fresh flowers in the dead of winter make me happy.  I especially love a simple bouquet in my bedroom. Financial times being what they are, this is a luxury that is just that....a luxury.  Beautiful pictures will have to suffice for now.  Sigh.
Do you do flowers?
You don't have to answer that, Erin.  :)

Wishing you all a glorious Sunday!

Happy Sunday

I love the modern edginess of this bouquet.  The traditional colors keep it soft.  Gorgeous.

If I take the less direct way into town, I pass a small hill that is filled with poppies.  I don't ever remember seeing poppies here in Virginia anywhere other than this little stretch on the side of the road.  I love driving past them - they are, in all their delicate brightness, so cheerful.
Don't you love poppies?!

Anticipation

I read somewhere that forsythia means anticipation.

My mom reminded me last week that it was time to bring in forsythia branches.
There is nothing more beautiful than a shock of that bright yellow on a dank, rainy early spring day.
