Bird Song

Are the birds crazy-loud where you are?  I don't remember them being this loud; they're singing up a storm here in Charlottesville.
I love it.

March 1

It is a beautiful, sunny, warm day.  I'll walk to work today, breathe in the fresh air, and write a gratitude list in my head.  There is a lot to be grateful for, yes?

Gorgeous flowers by SAIPUA.

(Sarah was in Charlottesville last week, and even came into Roxie Daisy!!  I'm so so disappointed I wasn't there when she came in....)

slighty obsessed

After I typed that title, it occurred to me that that phrase is probably an oxymoron.  Can one ever be "slightly" obsessed?  Either way, purple in all it's shades and hues is my favorite color.  I went to my friend's house yesterday and her (7!) lilac bushes were in full bloom.  I was inspired.

Anticipation

I read somewhere that forsythia means anticipation.

My mom reminded me last week that it was time to bring in forsythia branches.
There is nothing more beautiful than a shock of that bright yellow on a dank, rainy early spring day.

lucky!

{flickr}
When we moved into our house 6 years ago, it was July.  The dogwood tree in the front yard was well past it's bloom time, of course, and new blossoms wouldn't be out for another 9 months.  Oh how I love a surprise -- would it don white or pink blooms?  I found out the following April that this tree was of the pink variety.  However, I was a bit dismayed by the fact there were only *4* flowers on the whole tree!   Count 'em -- 4!
I am ever so happy to report that since the first blooming, I can no longer count the flowers, as I get lost in a sea of pink.
My dogwood is gorgeous!  Springtime in Virginia is fabulous.  I am so lucky.

good morning

I love my coffee!
Coffee makes me happy.  Springtime makes me happy.  These fun, fresh coffee mugs make me REALLY happy!  I found the first two mugs on Etsy.  (What *can't* you find on Etsy?!)

This Jonathan Adler beauty is available here

....and this very sunny mug is found here.

Happy First Day of Spring!
